GRAFFITI ON CL50′S WALL!

What I want to know is, how did the guy fall asleep with this above him? O_o

jk…it’s digitally rendered.  Had you there, eh?

Princess Daffodil and the Suitor Monday, Sep 29 2008

So, the title needs some work. And to be perfectly honest, the story itself needs work. But it is a new, really short story, that I enjoy!

I’m pretty sure that this story was inspired my recent trip to Venice. In my files it was called “Venice (1)”, but I decide that made no sense, because it mentions canals, and that’s about it for European references. Venice(2) and Venice(3) aren’t even in complete incarnations yet.

I’m hoping that more short stories with Princess Daffodil will appear, because she amuses me, but no promises. I’m currently trying to work on two half-finished longer stories, one based on a dream (in the dream I had to fight my way through the Battle of Hastings, which was not at all like the Battle of Hastings, to get to a movie theatre, and then “Superheroes” was the movie that I saw) and one based on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I think that there’s something wrong with me that I can get a dark quasi-horror fantasy out of a children’s Christmas song.

Anyway, those are for the future if the hiatus in my homework holds out. This is the first two paragraphs (check out the rest under stories!) of “Princess Daffodil and the Suitor” . . .

The highest tower had a view that took in the whole of the city, every canal, and every distant mountain past the pale green waters of the lagoon.

The Princess Daffodil stared out over the stretch of storming waters with a contented look on her face. She looked like a well-fed cat sitting on the railing, plump and satisfied with life with a contentedly twitching tail…

Skype me! Wednesday, Sep 24 2008

Yeah, I got Skype again.  I deleted it after Brose got back from England last year, but seeing as others I know use it, I got it again.  So if you know me, Skype me!  =D

Classes are cool.  My art class is actually fun, too!  Up until now it’s usually been kinda boring – make something from these abstract shapes!  Sketch this!  Do a study of this! – but this time, we’re 1: in Photoshop (which I know and love, so using it’s not work), and 2: doing fun things.  Aka, designing a cd cover/album cover, or photographing a campus wall and then doing digital graffiti on it (I’ll post it when I’m done, it’s just too fun).

Japanese is killing me.  Slowly.

CGT is cool; can’t say much about what we’re doing, but it’s a lot of work. @_@

Stat is boring, but so far doable.  Need to figure out my calculator soon, though, or I won’t be able to do the exam…

COM is com.  Small group stuff, no biggie…

And then Band.  Which I already mentioned some blogs ago, that I somehow made first flute section (cool?) and now get to play the stuff that’s fun and hard!  I’m glad I am where I am; I’ve worked hard to get better, paying more attention to what my sound is rather than what I want my sound to be.  This way, I can change that sound if I notice it isn’t what I want.  The secret to it all!

That, and not being a slacker.

Studying abroad!  Yes, there is news here, in a way.  Or more like…the set-up to news.  I haven’t made any actual plans yet, but I’ve narrowed down my time: next year, now!  Or in other words, next year fall semester.  If I do things in a certain way, I can save one selective until my time there, take it there and graduate in December.  This means I won’t get jypped of any aid! ^__^b  I really want to go to Tohoku, but I didn’t see any Fall semester options…but we’ll see.  I’m meeting with an SA advisor in a few weeks.

In the meantime!

Callout wasn’t as much of a train wreck as I expected (haha, I finally talk about it two weeks after the fact).  We had 27 people show up, which is pretty nice considering the lack of flier-age on sidewalks this year.  That, and it rained practically that whole week before, so chalking the info on the sidewalks didn’t happen.  There, I’ve now given you all the info you need to figure out my university; good luck!

Here’s the Touhou art I promised; it’s just a quick thing, but I kind of don’t want to finish it.  It looks kinda nice all sketchy and stuff.

TAT I know Eirin is not supposed to be nice!  And I know I changed her hair!  …And it’s all because of my rampant imagination, I guess.  And I hadn’t seen any pictures beforehand; it was just me thinking about what I would draw such a character as in my head.  And as for the character change….  You see, in my mind, it goes like this:

“Ah, she is a healer.” = NICE

“Ah, she killed her team-mates that were supposed to bring Kaguya back with them.” = COLD-HEARTED

Thus: “Ah, once upon a time she was a cold-hearted person able to kill even those she worked with, but non-the-less she cared deeply for Kaguya and saved her.  Since then, while she has been in Gensokyo with Kaguya, she has taken on the position of healer, and turned into a nice, caring person.”

Even if her “nice” isn’t as nice as other people’s, would she necessarily always appear to be cold-hearted and aloof?  She can smile!

If nothing else I can say she’s smiling at Kaguya, right?  Right?!

Well, anyway, I like the cold-hearted side of her, too, so this is my rendition of that side of her…

Chillin!
