Ensei (my roommate, if you’ll remember) drew these Touhou characters in casual dress, but apparently hates coloring? (haha, she says she doesn’t get color) Therefore, she opened up her linework for color.
*insert evil laugh here*
So first one down! Alice Margatroid, lines by Ensei, color by me! Had fun with all the shadows and such. W00t for colored shadows! …Though that jacket took me six tries before I found the color I wanted. =A=
So here she is~~
Nice! I like the way the highlights in the boots carry over the purples from the jacket, and how the highlights in the hair carry over the green from the eyes (& the purples too)
Haha, thanks! Though actually, there is no green in her hair (just blue and pink on transparency – layered, it appears green and purple), and the same blue from the hair I used on the boots (though the pink on the boots is the same used for highlights on the jacket).
I say this just because I find it immensely interesting to think that the pink on the boots is the purple on the jacket and pants, or the blue in the hair is the green of the eyes. Yay for associations and messing with color perception!
Other fun facts: the shadows on the skin are blue and pink, and there is actually cyan and purple to shade the shirt (the cream/white shirt, not scarf, which used a very pure blue). Also, the hair is all one layer; when I went to skin and below, I got smart and put the shading on a new layer… lol.
I might upload and link to a picture that has the color swatches on the side, so you can see all the exact combos I used… If you’re interested. ^__~
